Textbooks
The
State of Texas and the Lubbock Independent School
District provide free textbooks for students enrolled
at Lubbock High School. The student, however, assumes
full financial responsibility for this property when
it is issued to him. This means a student must pay
for any book charged to him that is lost, stolen,
or damaged beyond repair. After payment has been made
on a lost book, the student is then entitled to be
issued another book for a given subject. Lost books
will be returned to the bookroom where they may be
reclaimed by students before or after school.
Immediately
after books have been issued to the student, he/she
is to place his/her name and school year used in ink
in the designated place in each book issued. Then
each book is covered properly. Teachers will check
books regularly to see that they are covered. A student will
be assigned the full price of the book for damage
that is beyond repair. No transcripts, credits, or
grades, etc. will be given to a student if his book
record is not clear. It is imperative, therefore,
that a student clear his book record before checking
out of school.
Students
using books for correspondence and/or credit by exam
will be required to place a deposit for the price
of the book(s) to be refunded when the book(s) are
returned.
