Student
Conduct
The
faculty and staff of LHS believe that 100% of the
students will follow the rules and regulations to
make this a great high school. For those few who choose
to violate the rules, there are consequences as outlined
in the LISD Student Code of Conduct. Students and
parents are required to sign a statement that they
have been given a copy of the Student Code of Conduct
and agree to abide by it. Keep it and this handbook
available to answer any question concerning LISD and
Lubbock High discipline procedures.
Each
student at Lubbock High School is expected to:
- demonstrate
courtesy and respect for others
- behave
in a responsible manner
- attend
all classes, regularly and on time
- be
prepared for each class; take appropriate materials
and assignments to class
- obey
all campus and classroom rules
- respect
the rights and privileges of other students and
of teachers and other District staff
- respect
the property of others, including District property
and facilities
- cooperate
with or assist the school staff in maintaining safety,
order, and discipline
- avoid
violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
By
state law and district policy, Lubbock High School
students are under the jurisdiction of the LISD Student
Code of Conduct and Lubbock High School policies,
in addition to the Texas Education Code and other
state laws, while on a school trip, at any school
activity, on any part of the campus, and within 300
feet of the campus.
Students
are held accountable for all information, procedures,
laws, and policies contained in the Student Code of
Conduct.
Students
who are assigned to in-school suspension or who are
temporarily suspended from school are prohibited from
participating in extracurricular activities or career/technology
work programs.
