Student
Activities
Lubbock
High has a long and exciting history of activities
involving the student body. Involvement in student
activities is one of the keys to success in high school.
In
1935, the student body of Lubbock High School organized
a Student Council. Through the years the organization
has grown in importance and in ability to serve the
students and the school.
The
objectives of the council are to give the students
an opportunity to discuss school affairs, to share
in the forming of school policies and traditions,
and conduct activities of benefit to all students.
The organization takes great pride in acting as a
medium of service through which the student body may
work in exemplifying those attitudes of cooperation
and helpfulness which make possible a unified and
effective school program.
The
Student Council consists of four representative groups:
The Student Senate (representing the total student
body), Senior Class Council, Junior Class Council,
and the Sophomore Class Council. These groups are
composed of representatives chosen by their fellow
students and are very active, not only in promoting
activities of benefit and interest to the student
body and the school, but also in promoting friendly
relations between our school and our neighbors. Every
student should become familiar with the organization
and activities of the Student Council.
